Yoga for Insomnia - a YCC Workshop with Kathy McCoy

It's 2 a.m.  Do you know where your peace of mind is? If you've struggled with sleeplessness, you're not alone.  The latest data from the Centers for Disease Control reports some 50-70 million Americans suffer from insomnia.  Last year about 60 million prescriptions were written for sleep aids.  Regular sleep deficits have been associated with high blood pressure, type II diabetes, heart disease, depression, cancers and obesity.  It's enough to keep you up at night! Come and practice a 7 pose series designed for when you are really struggling with sleep.  These poses are the way to begin to digest what's on your mind and ease toward peaceful sleep. Several types of breathing techniques will also be incorporated to support calming the mind and body.

Dress comfortably in layers.  If needed, please consider a light snack rather than a complete meal before this class.
