Dogology is proud to host its first annual “Dogtoberfest” celebration on Saturday, October 26 from noon to 4:00 pm at its Canton, CT location. This family-friendly - and dog-friendly - event is an opportunity to raise desperately needed funds for the Farmington Valley’s only no-cost Pet Food Pantry that is maintained by Dogology.
There is a lot more need than there appears to be in our community - there are people and families that continue to struggle financially, and feeding a cherished pet should not be a source of worry.
During “Dogtoberfest” there will be doggie costume contests, games for people and their dogs, pet photography, hot food and cider from Avon Country Deli, a bake sale, local crafts including Robin’s Glass World, a teacup auction and fabulous prizes for contest winners. Entertainment will be provided by area DJ Derek Egerman.
Additionally, area businesses joining the day include: PAW Veterinary Clinic, Brownstone Bakery for Dogs, Oma’s Pride (from Miller Foods), Best In Show Mobile Grooming, Simply Gourmet with Scoops frozen yogurt for dogs, Avon Kempo & Akido Academy, The Little Green Tambourine, Karepenko Center for Natural Wellness and more. Representatives from the dog food companies Nature’s Variety and Canine Caviar will be on hand with free samples, and to answer pet nutrition-related questions that you might have.
Representatives from both Boot-N-Kit Canine Rescue and Our Companions will be on hand with adoptable animals that you can meet. (Please note that all adoptions require pre-approval, and applications may be obtained directly from the rescue organizations.)
All of the money raised during Dogtoberfest will be used to keep the pet food pantry operational. Come to Dogtoberfest and help raise money to feed local pets in need.
Dogology is located at 166 Albany Turnpike, in Canton, Conn. (at the back of the Canton Green plaza – behind the “Pink House”).
