Ann Marie is a seasoned journalist, public relations practitioner and web writer who owns The Perfect Word-Communications with Results. She believes that everyone has a story to tell and has worked as a reporter for daily and weekly newspapers in Connecticut and Massachusetts, AvonPatch.com and spent time covering the state legislature on Beacon Hill in Boston. As a public relations account executive at Mintz & Hoke Communications Group in Avon, Ann Marie promoted the first-generation "talking elevator" for Otis Elevator Company across the U.S. and Canada. A long-time resident of Simsbury, Ann Marie finds herself quite busy keeping up with her three children and her volunteerism. She is an active member of Simsbury's bicycle community, and was co-founder of Simsbury Free Bike, a bike-share program. Current projects include CT Adaptive Cycling, for persons with disabilities, and the Simsbury Bike Sculpture Committee. Ann Marie recently created Bike Walk Simsbury!, an ad hoc group committed to safe and accessible bicycling and walking in Simsbury. She has been a "cuddler" of premature babies at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, helped promote the 200th birthday of Harriet Beecher Stowe at the Stowe Center in Hartford, and is a member of the ArtWalkSimsbury! marketing committee.
