Raynet Technologies Now Located in Canton Green Plaza

Business looks to increase its local presence.

Raynet Technologies may not rely on foot traffic for its business, but recently the tech company became more visible in the community. Just weeks ago, President Raymond McKay moved his business operations, which had been based at his Canton home since 2003, to a suite at 166 Albany Turnpike, the plaza know as Canton Green. The plaza’s fiber optics and technology infrastructure, which make adaptation and expansion a breeze, were key reasons he chose the location. “Specifically I wanted to be in this plaza,” he said. At the same time, he’s kept that cozy, home atmosphere, with a big comfy …

Dentfix Owner: Improvements On Track For Memorial Day

Retail location likely to open this month.

The Dentfix Express building at 16 Maple Ave. has been the site of much activity over the past few weeks. Owner Steve Roberto has hired roofing, paving and additional contractors as he prepares to open the retail location. During the process, he has discovered some surprises such as molding that had been hidden under a secondary roof on the building. On Monday, workers from Franklin Painting were busy caulking, restoring and painting the molding.  As he returns it to more of its historical look, Roberto said he would love some old photographs of the building if anyone has any. While he has seen some that show the business from a distance or the rear, he hopes to find a close-up of the front of the building. Contact him at 860-693-3368 or …

Shop to offer new and used rifles, handguns, accessories and some fishing bait and gear.

By mid April, long-time hunter and avid sportsman Perry Polderman plans to open American Shooters, LLC on Route 44. Polderman will offer new and used rifles, handguns, ammunition, some accessories as well as live bait and a few fishing supplies at the 155 Albany Turnpike location. “I’m just a sportsman,” Polderman said. “I like guns and using them and I’ve also collected quite a few.” Polderman said he has been hunting for about 40 years and some of that personal collection will be for sale. He said the pre-owned models, trades and the handgun offerings will set him apart from large gun retailers in the area. He also plans to offer fair prices on new guns as well. “I plan to be very competitive with my pricing,” Polderman sad. “I want to …

(Update) Small Commercial Building Has High Visibility

Former Brass Bed Boutique listed after death of owner.

The commercial building at the beginning of Trailsend Drive may have slightly less than 500 square feet but it does feature something invaluable to many businesses. “It has great exposure,” said realtor David Sinish, adding that it would be ideal for a small office or retail operation. The building, located at 3 Trailsend Drive, near Route 44 and its intersection with Lawton Road is the former Brass Bed Boutique, operated by John Perrino from 1975 until his death in May of 2011. It went on the market last fall.  Sinish said town records show the structure was built in 1970 by Wycliff Eddy and originally used for a real estate company until it was sold to Perrino, who also owned a barn on Collins Road for the manufacture, repair, polishing …
