Current owner Susan Walkway fostered her love of animals by competing in dog shows, and has owned the kennel since moving up to Canton from West Virginia in 2002. Walkway currently lives adjacent to the Kennels, so she is never too far away from animals left in her care. Her business, Cherry Brook Kennels, features 51 indoor/outdoor dog runs, as well as an indoor cat room, and space for other small animals that come with their own accomodations. In addition to boarding service, the Kennels also offer pet grooming and operates as the animal shelter for the town of Farmington, with several cats up for adoption. The vets are well-schooled in the care of aging pets and can help you manage the specific needs of an older dog or cat. Exotic pets are welcome at Roaring Brook, and your birds, lizards and reptiles can receive their medical care and check-ups here.</p> <p>The kennel offers boarding for dogs, cats and exotic animals when you are away. If you have a busy schedule that doesn't allow for playtime with your pet, you will want to check out the doggy daycare program, which includes two outdoor play areas and one indoor playroom. Four Paws Only is a dog owner's dream come true.  The beautiful new facility is located on Canton Springs RoadMore across from the volunteer fire department.  You will find a variety of dog services here including training, day care and grooming.  Their class schedule is varied and dog owners may choose from puppy classes, agility training, family dog training and more.  If your time to come to classes is limited, they do in home training also.  The day care center is large and open and the dogs, which range in size from tiny to large,  seem to be having a ball.  An assortment of dog care products are also available.

As the town of Canton's largest outdoor recreation facility, Mills Pond Park hosts a variety of events, camps, sportsMore and other recreation activities throughout the year. The recreation area features a six-lane, Olympic-size swimming pool, four tennis courts, two basketball courts, two soccer fields, two baseball diamonds, a playground and a skate park.</p> <p>The pool offers group and private Red Cross swimming lessons on weekday and Saturday mornings during the summer. The pool also hosts the Duskie Dolphins youth swim team. Other activities at the park include a variety of live music, outdoor movie nights, sports camps (soccer, tennis and basketball), Explorers Summer Camp and ice skating on the pond.
