The Canton Peace Pole was gifted to the town in September 2007 by a Peace Pole for Canton, a group of volunteers who spent several years raising funds and working with the town on a location for the monument. The five-sided, copper pole has the words "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in 10 languages. The monument, located in front of Little Mills Pond, also includes a brick pathway, benches and plantings designed to create a peaceful place for residents.
