Writer, Outdoor Enthusiast to Speak at Land Trust Dinner

Event set for March 20, reservations requested by March 13.

The Canton Land Conservation Trust has announced that Steve Grant will be the speaker at their Annual Dinner on Tuesday, March 20 at La Trattoria Restaurant.

The public and Land Trust members are invited to dinner and Mr. Grant's talk "My office is the outdoors: A career exploring Connecticut's wild lands." Grant is now a freelance writer, following a 29-year career with the Hartford Courant, in which he covered subjects from politics to the sciences. Nature, outdoor recreation, adventure travel, the green movement, agriculture, energy and natural sciences were all subjects covered by Grant. Paddling down the length of the Connecticut River from its source to Long Island Sound resulted in a series of articles that are among his most remembered.

Grant will speak at 8 p.m., following a silent auction and cash bar at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Anyone with questions concerning the event, or wishing to make a reservation, should call 860-693-2074 before March 13. One may also make a reservation for just Grant's talk.
