Waggin' For Wheels Tag Sale Saturday
Event will raise funds for new animal control vehicle.
is hosting a Waggin' For Wheels tag sale Saturday, Sept. 10 to raise funds for a new Animal Control vehicle for Canton and Avon.
Miller Foods and its related business, Oma's Pride Pet food, have spearheaded an effort to help the Avon Police Department purchase a new Animal Control vehicle.
Animal Control Officer Beverly LaPlume also works for the town of Canton.

The 2011 Dodge Caravan, offered at a discount of $20,000 by the Mitchell Auto Group of Simsbury, will replace the 1998 Ford Windstar LaPlume is driving. About $15,000 has been raised so far.
"We're hoping this will put us over the edge," LaPlume said.

The tag sale will take place at Miller Foods/Oma's Pride, 308 Arch Road, Avon.
It starts at 7 a.m. and is slated to run to 5 p.m. but may end earlier if items sell quickly.
