Canton Valley Dental to participate in Give Kids a Smile Day



On February 3, 2012 many children from local low-income families will receive free dental services ranging from cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, and extractions as part of national Give Kids A Smile® day.

Canton Valley Dental has contacted the local Farmington Valley School Systems, Local Churches, Food Banks, Gifts of Love and Social Services to ask their assistance in offering this service to the families that truly need the help.  Canton Valley Dental specifically looks to help children receive the dental care they need, especially those who may not otherwise see a dentist.

Last year, more than 44,650 dental team members nationwide participated in Give Kids A Smile®, a program first held in 2003 by the American Dental Association (ADA) to provide care and raise awareness of the importance of access to dental care for poor children.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly 1 in 4 children, aged 2 to 11 years, has untreated cavities in their baby teeth,
