WINTER FANTASY ON ICE TO BENEFIT GIFTS OF LOVE

The International Skating Center of Connecticut, located at 1375 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury, will host Winter Fantasy On Ice, a high-energy and magical figure skating show, to benefit GIFTS OF LOVE, a non-profit organization, serving working families throughout the Farmington Valley and Greater Hartford communities who are in financial crisis. Presented by HartfordSkates.com, the event will feature special guest skaters, Ekaterina Gordeeva, a two-time Olympic and four-time World Champion, and Olympic and European Champion, Ilia KulikWinter Fantasy On Ice performances are scheduled on Saturday, December 31, 2011 and Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. 

 

Tickets are priced at $10 for general seating, and $20 for reserved on-ice seating.  General and Reserved On-Ice tickets may be purchased at The International Skating Center of Connecticut (ISCC) in Simsbury, Champions Skating Center (Cromwell), and Bolton Ice Palace (Bolton).  General seating tickets may also be purchased at Gifts of Love (35 East Main St., Old Avon Village, in Avon), The Hair Loft of Avon (Riverdale Farms), Body Talk (51 East Main St. in Avon), Simsbury Farms Ice Rink (100 Old Farms Rd, Simsbury), and at Flatbread Company restaurant in Canton (The Shoppes at Farmington Valley).

The ISCC, in cooperation with the Town of Simsbury, will be collecting gently worn skates at the performances.  The skates will be donated to the Bushnell Park Rink, created by Hartfordskates.com, to bring the joy of ice skating at no cost to Hartford residents and visitors to Bushnell Park.

The mission of Gifts of Love is to help meet the basic needs of individuals and families experiencing a temporary financial crisis so they can achieve or maintain self-sufficiency. The organization provides food and clothing, household items and furniture to individuals and families facing a financial crisis due to a variety of circumstances. Gifts of Love helps clients meet their families’ most basic needs – food on the table, a winter coat, or a bed to sleep in – and enable them to focus on putting their lives back in order and regaining their independence.
