Canton Football Team Goes to 2-1

Team defeats Housatonic/Wamago 40-0.

Canton (2-1) defeated Housatonic/Wamago (0-3), 40-0, in Falls River on Saturday night. Canton scored on its first four possessions to build a first half lead of 27-0 and never looked back. Kyle Mullins led a balanced attack with 102 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Jesse Lachance and Mike Amoroso also scored on TD runs.  The passing game was very efficient with QB Eric Scott completing 9 of 13 passes for 103 yards including a 10 yard strike to Jake Wood. 

Special teams also contributed with Sebastian Gumbs returning a 2nd quarter punt 54 yards for a touchdown. Canton’s offensive and defensive lines controlled the game throughout and limited Housatonic/Wamago to 141 total yards.  Henry Bonini, Daniel Delos, and Patrick Lawler led the Canton defense to its second consecutive shutout.  Canton will host undefeated Avon this Saturday afternoon.  Jeremy Steiwing played well for Housatonic/Wamago.
