Boys Outdoor Track Team Wins Class S State Championship

Canton Comes In First Of 47 Teams.

The Canton High School Boys Varsity Outdoor Track Team has won the Class S State Championship, parents and students have told Patch. 

The meet was held at Veterans Stadium in New Britain Thursday.  Of 18 events, Canton came in with 67 points, while Northwest Catholic was second with 60.

Gold medal winners included David Kucia in the men’s 110 Meter Hurdles with a preliminary score of 15.50 and a final score of 15.10 and 10 points. Also taking first in the men’s shot put finals was Dylan Smith, with a distance of 49-09.50.
