The major fundraising event also includes an online auction with more than 300 exclusive items. So far, the online auction has raised $15,000, a good sign, since many wait until the last couple days. There are some 31 items that people have not yet bid on, Renaud said.

Local residents who bid and win the online items can also pick them up prior to the event at 41 Bridge Street from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3. Attendance to the gala is not required for pickup. Those who do attend can also pick up their online items after the event.

Local businesses were extremely accommodating in providing items for the fundraiser, Renaud said. Some of the items that will be available at the event can also be viewed at the web site.

The event takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. at on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
