Wacky Wizards Fun in Canton Benefits Cherry Brook Playground Project

It was a night of wacky fun Wednesday as The Harlem Wizards took on the Canton Recess Rebounders at the high school.

The game was held to benefit the Cherry Brook Playground project, an effort by the CBPS Parent Teacher Organization to replace the two aging playgrounds at the school.

The Wizards provided plenty of entertainment, dancing, antics, half-time fun, autographs and more.

In the game itself, the professional players took an early lead but some creative scoring adjustments helped Canton come back and take a lead. Ultimately, however, the Wizards pulled ahead and in a football style ending came out on top 75 to 72.

The score, however, didn't really matter.

PTO president Tracy Zaccara Renaud said people of all ages enjoyed the sold-out show.

"It was a wonderful community event," she said.

Patch plans to update this story when we learn how much the event generated. In the meantime, please enjoy the video and read more about the project in this earlier story.
