Susanne Russell, President of the Education Association of Canton, stated, “The Canton Board of Education and the Education Association of Canton worked closely together to reach an agreement that was fiscally responsible for the Town of Canton. This contract reflects the current difficult economic times facing our town. Our teachers have agreed to a hard zero freeze for the first year of the contract. Our teachers will pay more for health insurance in years two and three with higher co-pays and deductibles. The EAC is very proud of the Canton Public School District. Our teachers take pride in their profession and the result are the many awards the District has received over the past few years. This settlement maintains the District’s ability to attract and retain a high quality teaching staff. We want our schools to maintain their outstanding reputation.”
