Substance Free Graduation Committee Accepting Donations

Party offers senior a night of fun, prizes.

While the Substance-Free Graduation Party is free for seniors, the event costs well over $10,000, committee member Peter Fortier told the Class of 2012 this week. 

In brief remarks to the class during a voter registration event at , Fortier and Principal Gary Gula urged seniors to enjoy the night but did ask that they hand in their attendance forms for the event and thank the community members that support it. 

Fortier said that comes in many forms. Many parents on the committee have put in hours of work planning the party, he said.

"It was just an astounding amount of work," he said. 

And of course there are the financial donations and well as some donated items used as prizes at the party.

"Most of the businesses in this town are supporting you guys," he said.
