School Board Thanks Senior David Benedetti for Representing Canton Students

This week, the Board of Education said a special thank you to student representative and Canton High School senior David Benedetti.

For the past two years, he has been one of two student representatives. That role includes reports to the board, offering student perspectives on issues and projects such as a senior survey, which over the past few years has become increasingly sophisticated.

“We certainly have appreciated all the time you’ve put in,” Board chair Leslee Hill said. “The level of enthusiam you brought to the job is noteworthy.”

Superintendent Kevin Case said he has enjoyed watching Benedetti’s leadership skills grow.

“You’ve been an outstanding representative of the study body,” Case said.

Benedetti, who plans to study business at the University of Connecticut, said the experience was worthwhile.

“The board has done a lot for me,” he said. “I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Continuing to represent the student body next year will be current junior Justin Fortier and current sophomore Henry Bonini, a new representative.
