The Board of Education voted Tuesday to pass a 2012-2013 budget proposal of $23,515,402 to the Board of Finance.
The proposal represents a 3.967 percent increase over the 2011-2012 approved budget of $22,618,067.
The board's plan is $1,100 less than Superintendent Kevin D. Case's proposed plan but does include some changes. Essentially the board and Case found an estimated $76,180 in savings from newly announced retirements and a change in sick leave but added $75,000 in funding for access road improvements at Canton High School.
