COLLEGE FORUM

Where, When: March 16 from 7 to 8 p.m. at , 76 Simonds Ave, Collinsville, CT 06019 (CHS Library Media Center)

Why go: A panel of eight former Canton High School students will share information about their college experience, how they made their college choice, and the academic and social adjustments of college life. The college students, freshmen and seniors, represent a range of public and private schools. They will answer questions and discuss things they wish they'd known before they started college.

MOGUL COMPETITION

 Where, When: Ski Sundown, 126 Ratlum Rd, New Hartford, March 19 from 8:00am–6:00pm

Why: Bring your helmet and come participate in this competition at Ski Sundown in New Hartford. Registration is from 8am to 12:30pm. First place winners in each category will win $1,000 each. Second place winners in each category will win $500 each.

Pricing: $25 entry fee


HEAD SHAVING FOR ST. BALDRICK’s
 

When, Where: Canton Community Center, lower level, March 19, 1 p.m. 

Why: A charity fundraiser for the Saint Baldricks Foundation. St. Baldricks is a non-profit foundation that raises funds for childhood cancer research. There will be Tee- shirt sales, Bake sale, people going bald, and much more! The event will be held in the lowest level of the community center in the multi-purpose room.

DRUMMING ABOUT YOU

Where, When: Roaring Brook Nature Center, 70 Gracey Rd, Canton, March 20, 1:30pm–2:30pm

Why: Come to the Roaring Brook Nature Center for this interactive drumming concert with Bob Bloom. Open to all 

Pricing: $8 for members; $9 for nonmembers.


PRINCESS IDA

Where/When: , 34 Farms Village Rd, Simsbury, March 20, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Simsbury Light Opera presents Gilbert & Sullivan's "Princess Ida" in performances on March 19 and 20. For tickets or more information, visit www.sloco.org. Open to all. 

Pricing: adults $24, seniors/students with valid ID $19, children 12 and under $8
