On Friday, April 5 Canton Public Schools will present its first Percussion Recital. The concert will take place at the Canton High School Media Center at 7:30 and will feature the CHS Percussion Ensemble. Selections arranged for percussion by Bob Rush, Canton's Percussion Artist-in-Residence include "Diamond Dust," originally written for rock guitar virtuoso Jeff Beck by Bernie Holland, "Tell It All" composed by jazz guitarist Pat Metheny and "Meandres" from Cirque du Soleil.
Also included will be a solo snare drum selection by senior Sam Byus and an appearance by Canton Middle School 8th Grade Percussionists. The concert is free of charge.
