Middle School Students Chosen for Music Festival

Connecticut Music Educators Associations Northern Region Festival set for March 2 and 3.

Twelve Canton Middle School music students were chosen by audition to participate in the Connecticut Music Educators Associations Northern Region Festival.  

The Northern Region Middle School Music Festival is a two-day festival made up of the finest Middle and Junior High School musicians in the Northern region of Connecticut.

Students chosen to participate in this Festival have the opportunity to meet other talented students of the same age from surrounding towns as well as be a part of a wonderful musical experience.

The Festival will take place at Har-Bur Middle School with rehearsals March 2 and 3, 2012. The Festival will conclude with a grand concert on the afternoon of March 3. The rehearsals and concert performance are under the direction of well known conductors from the New England area.

Students selected from Canton Middle School for the Festival Concert Chorus are: Amie Freedenberg, Gabrielle Manna, Jocelyn Rossitto, Mia Tuccillo and Dustin Van Kirk. Performing with the Concert Band are: William Briggs and Bradley Connolly, baritone horn; Jordan Mingo, French Horn; Ethan Porter, tuba and Elizabeth Raynor, flute. Performing in the Jazz Ensemble are: Zachary Oliver, alto saxophone and Ryan Scala, trombone.
