Kindergarten Meet and Greet

New pupils tour classroom and ride the bus while parents learn more about the school day.

Cherry Brook Primary School held its 5th annual kindergarten meet and greet Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Students visited their classrooms, met their teachers and classmates, received a sticker officially declaring them a kindergarten student and had the chance to play a little and get comfortable in the new environment.

Parents joined their kids in the classroom for a short time and then assembled in the school's cafeteria with principal Andrew Robbin, who went over bus procedures, the school's communication initiatives and other facets of school. Students spent a few more minutes in the classroom and then took a short ride on a school bus.

Robbin said the event, held in two sessions Wednesday, gives students and parents an introduction to the classroom, their teachers and, of course, the bus.

"It's a great way to get the classes all together and get that first bus ride in," he said.
