Just a Few More Days To Help Canton Intermediate School PTO Campaign

Organization hopes to purchase more SMART boards for school.

Just a few days remain in the Canton Intermediate School Parent Teacher Organization's effort to provide SMART boards for additional classrooms.

The organization started a new "Reach for the Stars" donation drive this fall to allow parents the chance to donate 100 percent for the students. It also hoped to outfit the classrooms without the interactive, computerized white boards for this school year.

The organization has raised approximately $11,000 and hopes to get to at least $14,000 by the Friday deadline. That would allow the group to purchase seven SMART boards, essentially outfitting the rest of the school's regular classrooms with the devices.

"The CIS PTO is excited to be part of a such a successful campaign and we are so thankful to have such strong support from the parents in the CIScommunity," said PTO president Julie Ausere.

The PTO still hopes to eventually outfit four "specials" rooms (such as music) with the boards.
