Introducing Mr. CHS 2013

Second time a charm for high school senior.

Canton High School senior Julian Franklin was crowned Mr. CHS 2013 Thursday night.

Franklin took the honors after an evening of competition in categories such as talents, formal-wear and interviews. This was his second year in the competition, which included 9 contestants.

"I really thought I wasn't going to come out on top," Franklin said. "I'm really excited."

Seniors Kyle Mullins and Ralph Holley hosted the Student Council sponsored event.

Teachers Michelle Ott, Irene Urko and Victoria Rich served as judges and the night included several tributes to retiring principal Gary Gula, complete with a reference to his one-day attempt to patrol the school in rollerblades. (Patch has no hard evidence of this alleged feat).

J.T. Ghamo, The Tuxedo Place provided formal-wear for the event.
