Why Go: With its three miles of stone walls, Hill-Stead is an ideal place to look at lichen, the colorful but often overlooked miraculous combination of fungus and algae. Home School Day at The Children's Museum

Why Go: The day includes special workshops and planetarium shows, opportunities to explore the museum’s many hands-on science and nature-related exhibits, and the chance for parents and kids to network with other home-school families. The workshops, classes and shows are appropriate for children ages five to 13.
Pricing:$7 per student per workshop. Adult members or reciprocal members free, non members $7 per person including non participating children aged 2 and up.
