If you’re a senior who is determined not to be left behind by the technology advances of the last decade or so, you’re in luck. Canton Public Library has launched a monthly series of workshops titled “Tech Topics for Seniors.” The series, which began in September, continues on Wednesday, June 20 at 1:00 PM with a presentation on e-readers.
Sarah McCusker, head of Technical Services at Canton Public Library, will talk about the growing popularity of using e-readers to read e-books. What is an e-reader? Why do I want one? What can I do with it? What advantages does it have over a “dead tree book?” Should I buy a Kindle or a Nook? She will also touch upon—although very, very briefly—how to use the library program Overdrive to download e-books.
Following a lecture/demonstration, seniors will have a chance to try their hand at the library-owned Kindles and Nooks.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, and space is limited. Canton Public Library is at 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton. For information: (860) 693-5800
