The Canton Historical Museum will host a lecture on "Charcoal before the Briquet: A Brief History of the Charcoal Industry by Shirley Sutton" March 4. Her illustrated talk will reveal the importance of the charcoal industry from the Pilgrims to the present, especially in Connecticut.
The lectures are held at the Canton Community Center (rear of Canton Public Library) at 2 p.m. Admission is $5, $3 for members.
