Museum Board Member Roy Olson, a former Collins Co. employee, will discuss the fabrication methods used for machetes by the Collins Company in the early 1960s. Founded in 1826 with eight blacksmiths, the Collins
Company rapidly became the largest manufacturer of edged tools in the world by 1860 producing 1,300 different tools including axes, machetes, picks, knives, plows, and swords with a workforce of over 1,100. Admission to the talk is free. For more
