CMS Students Selected to Perform in Music Festival

Twenty Canton Middle School music students were chosen by audition to participate in the 2014 Connecticut Music Educators Associations Northern Region Middle School Music Festival.

The Northern Region Middle School Music Festival is a two-day festival made up of the finest Middle and Junior High School musicians in the Northern region of Connecticut.

Students chosen to participate in this Festival have the opportunity to meet other talented students of the same age from surrounding towns as well as be a part of a wonderful musical experience. 

The Festival will take place at Central Connecticut State University with rehearsals March 7th & 8th, 2014. The Festival will conclude with a grand concert on the afternoon of March 8th.  The rehearsals and concert performance are under the direction of well-known conductors from the New England area.

Students selected from Canton Middle School for the Festival Concert Chorus are:

Zoe Bates, Shannon Downey, Amanda Kerr, Marcus Kosak, Sara Melendez, Clare Porter, Alexander Simmons, Lindsay Vacaa & Morgan Vacaa

Selected for the Concert Band are: Cole Glasgow, Cam Graves, Katherine Hynes, Katie Kosior, Katherine Mankowski, Sarah Marze, Grace Melrose, Evan Mingo & Katie Napier. 

Drew Bidmead was Selected for Orchestra and Tigger Kluessendor was selected for Jazz Band.
