Car Wash to Benefit Teens for Jeans Effort

Event to take place in Canton Indoor Golf Center Parking Lot Saturday.

This Saturday students from will host a car wash to help clothe homeless teens and children.

The effort is for the students' involvement in Teens for Jeans, an annual drive for new and gently used jeans sponsored by Aeropostale and DoSomething.org.

Taylor Gnazzo, who will be a senior next year, said Canton High School students participated in a collection drive last year but this will be the first fundraising event.

"It seems that earning money and purchasing jeans at local consignment shops will be more efficient than asking for individual pairs," Gnazzo said.

The car wash will take place Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Canton Indoor Golf Center parking lot in Canton Village.

Gnazzo said owner Chris Maher has generously donated his parking lot space and is giving each car that drives through the car wash a free round of mini golf. Aloha Tanning will also donate coupons to distribute to the occupants of each car.

Donation for the car wash is $5. Organizers will also sell rainbow Teens for Jeans wristbands for $2.
