The Canton Public School District will look into the possibility of a grade-level realignment that would send sixth graders to Canton Middle School and third graders to Canton Intermediate School.
A document shared by Superintendent of Schools Kevin Case, states that the district plans to put together a committee, with staff and parent representation, to look at the issue.
The first phase of the study would be to consider whether space issues and bus schedules would accommodate such a change, the documents state.
Secondly the committee would look at demographically similar communities that combine third, fourth and fifth grades and sixth, seventh and 8th grade levels and consider the benefits and drawbacks.
Patch will have more details on the study next week.
