Canton Middle School to Present ‘Happy Days: The Musical'

Show takes place Jan. 25 and 26.

Happy Days may not be on the radar of most Middle School students but nearly 100 in Canton are now immersed in the world of The Fonz and the Cunningham family. 

This weekend, Canton Middle School presents Happy Days: The Musical."

Kelly Casorio is directing the show, which including cast and crew, involves nearly 100 students. This is the first year she is without a co-director.

“The students are exceptional,” she said. “Not only in their acting and singing ability but in their overall attitudes. “

Casorio said parents have also been extremely supportive. For example, Kristina DiMartino put together the program and set up online ticketing system, Paula Seibers coordinated costumes and organized a sewing day with other mothers and kids, Michelle Begley taught voice lessons and Angie Abbott organized the props.

“I can't thank the parents enough,” Casorio said. “They have been so terrific.”

Parents were also excited with the choice of Happy Days and Casorio has been showing the kids old episodes during lunch periods. 

Canton Middle presents "Happy Days: The Musical" at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday Jan. 25, 26, 2013. Should there be a snow day Friday, a make-up show will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 ($5 for children and seniors) and can be purchased in advance at the PaySchools web site.

Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door on a first-come basis, school officials said.
