U.S. News and World Report has ranked Canton High School 27th in the state.

The magazine has released its 2013 rankings of the nation's best high schools. Nationally, Canton placed 1,075.

"I'm pleased that Canton High Schools is being named again for the third year in a row as one of Connecticut's top high schools," said Superintendent Kevin Case. "We are only one of two high schools to be recognized for this distinction in our Demographic Reference Group C. I want to commend our students and staff for their hard work, along the great support we receive from the community."

Among the accolades the school received in its silver medal ranking were proficiency scores of 98 percent in reading and math.

The school's student/teacher ratio and college readiness scores were close to the state average.

The report includes many more scores and statistics on the school, including its AP® participation rate of 35 percent and equal makeup of males and females. See more here
