Canton High is among the 123 schools nationwide have been selected as 2014 GRAMMY® Signature Schools semifinalists, according to a release by The GRAMMY Foundation®

"Awards such as these are a reflection of a concerted effort by the
parents, educators, and administrators in the Canton Schools to support
the musical achievements of our children," said Canton Schools music department chair Tom Scavone. "We are fortunate to possess an
extraordinary level of support from our Board of Education and community
to allow us to pursue various national recognitions and honors."

Created in 1998, the GRAMMY Signature Schools program recognizes top U.S. public high schools that are making an outstanding commitment to music education during an academic school year.

In mid-March 2014, the GRAMMY Foundation will announce the finalists for the GRAMMY Signature Schools program. These schools will receive a custom award and a monetary grant ranging from $1,000 up to $15,000 to benefit their music program.
