Canton Girls Lacrosse Team Participating in Relay for Life Friday

The Canton Girls Lacrosse team is participating in Relay for Life at the University of Hartford on Friday, April 12, 2013.

"Relay for Life is an awesome way to give back to our community and a great bonding opportunity for our team as well," said senior Jess Lederman. "Most people have been touched one way or another by someone with cancer.  We are trying to make a difference in other communities as well as our own and support all cancer victims and survivors by raising as much money as we possible can."

Relay for Life is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk to raise money for cancer where teams of people camp out around a track.Members of each team take turns walking around the track.

So far, the Canton team has raised about 65 percent of its $1,500 goal, Lederman said. Support the team via this link and follow their effort here
