The children at Canton Community Nursery School have just concluded a month-long theme of learning about pets and their care.
The class visited PetCo and saw some of the more unusual pets. In addition dog trainer Karen Moulton visited the classroom with her dog, Lyda.
The children had a "pet show" with their favorite stuffed animal where each pet received an award. To conclude their pet theme, they talked about pets that need a family to love them. They visited The Simon Foundation, Inc. - an animal shelter in Bloomfield. The children saw many dogs and cats, and donated dog and cat food that they had been collecting all month. Teachers said it was a wonderful learning experience.
