A Boost For Canton Athletics

Returnable cans and bottles brought to the collection bins at the Canton transfer station generate some $5,000 a year for the Canton Athletic Booster Club.

Volunteers place the returnables in bags and containers and CW Bottle Stop of Naugatuck pays per bag based on size and type.

Volunteer John Jarzbek said it generates some $5,000 per year for the booster club.

"You'd be surprised how much it adds up," he said. "It's a win, win situation for everybody."

The bins can be found to the right as you enter the transfer station on Ramp Road.
