SKYWARN Program Coming to Canton

Weather enthusiasts can help with warning system.

A free class Canton is offering this week may be just what the weather enthusiast has been seeking.

With SKYWARN, the National Weather Service uses trained "spotters" to help it determine when it should issue warnings for tornadoes, servere thunderstorms, flooding and other disasters.

"Radar can only do so much, so the National Weather Service relies on these trained spotters," said Adam Libros, Director of Emergency Management.
