Proposed Road Work Discussed Thursday
While the town garage debate dominated Canton's town meeting Thursday night, officials also discussed a $6 million proposal for road work.
On May 22, residents will have the chance to vote separately on the road proposal, $5.4 million town garage proposal and the town's $35 million budget proposal for 2013-2014, which will be discussed at a meeting Monday night.
Proposed spending for roads includes
Andrew Drive from West Simsbury Road to High Valley Road — $623,000
Case Street from Cherry Brook Road to Ridge Road — $865,000
Gracey Road from Sexton Hollow Road to Dry Bridge Road — $986,000
East Hill Road from North Mountain Road to Dowd Avenue — $960,000
Portion of Powder Mill Road — $750,000
General Improvements — $1.8 million
