Halloween Party Rain or Shine

BreMar donates tents for event at Mills Pond Thursday.

The Parks and Recreation sponsored Halloween Party set for Thursday will be rain or shine, director Brian Wilson said Wednesday.

Due to the possibility of showers or rain, BreMar Rental has donated large party tents for the event, which is slated for Thursday, Nov. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m.

The idea is to give kids another chance at the holiday most missed due to October snowstorm that brought down numerous trees and wires and put most people without power.

We think the party will give the kids a chance to dress up and celebrate the holiday in a safer environment,” Wilson told Patch last week.

Children will be treated to costume contests, treats and more under lights. Bring a basket or bag to collect candy.

The Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department will support the Mills Pond event by providing tours of Ladder-2. In addition, Fire Captain Steve LaPointe, owner of S.L. Audio, will be donating a professional sound system so that participants can enjoy music during the event.

The Parks & Recreation Office will take donations of candy, treats, decorations, and volunteers for the event at the Park & Rec office at the Community Center until Thursday. Please contact us with any questions or if you would like to help. 860-693-5808 or www.cantonrec.org
