Cohesive Effort Allows Town to Open Pool this Weekend

Free admission, Lions Club Fun Day, a Saturday night DJ and more on tap this weekend.

The fun will be plentiful at Mills Pond Pool this weekend but getting there was no easy task

The lack of consecutive sun-filled days delayed the painting of the sides of the pool itself, pushing off filling and testing the water a last-minute venture.

Meanwhile, there was a few equipment and training tweaks for the aging facility and this spring, the Lions Club was busy helping out, especially with painting the outside of the pool house. Town staff and volunteers painted the inside and Twin Landscaping donated flowers for some of the plants in revamped garden areas. On Friday afternoon, town staff were still working on a raised bed around the flagpole in front and taking care of other last-minute details.
