Canton Town Hall News: Road Work, Bluegrass, Dog Licenses & More

The following news is from the Town of Canton--

Road Work Alert!

The Canton Department of Public Works will be conducting road work on Barbourtown Road on Thursday July 24. Between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Barbourtown Road will be shut down at the intersection of Cherry Brook Road (Rt. 179) and the intersection of West Road. Traffic will be re-routed.

Thursday, July 24

The third concert of the Canton Parks and Recreation Summer Concert Series kicks off Thursday, July 24th, at 6:30 p.m. at Mills Pond Park with classic contemporary folk rock and bluegrass played by the "Please and Thank You String Band." The Lions Club will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks and refreshments.

The Dusky Dolpins will be hosting their end of the season swim meet on Thursday, July 24th at Mills Pond Pool. During the event, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Mills Pond Pool will be closed to the public.

Saturday, July 26

The Tax Office will be open on Saturday, July 26, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. to accept tax payments.

Dog Licenses Now Due

Register your dog by mail or visit the Town Clerk's office at 4 Market Street, Collinsville. A rabies certificate is required to license your dog. The fee is $19 for an unaltered dog or $8 for a spayed/neutered dog with a certificate of proof. A $75 fine will be imposed by the Animal Control Officer on unlicensed dogs in accordance with the State Law.

Dog licenses are valid from July 1st through June 30th and are renewable every year in May and June.
