Wednesday evening The Canton Public Library will show The Hunger Game during an end of summer reading party for adults.
Recently the film was shown for tweens and teens but reference librarian Beth Van Ness said the Hunger Games trilogy by author Suzanne Collins has generated interest for adult readers as well.
"I thought the books were wonderful and there's a lot of issues that are really relevant to what's going on in the world," Van Ness said.
In addition many parents have gained an interest in the books and movie from their children, Van Ness added.
The showing and discussion starts at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6 in room F in the Community Center/Library. Registration is preferred since the library will offer refreshments and a few door prizes. Call (860) 693-5800 to register.
Attendees are also asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Canton Food Bank.
