Why are you running for office?

I'm pursuing re-election to continue working with our town agencies to identify strengths and weaknesses in our policies and processes in order to effectively manage services, land use and expenditures.

What Skills do you have that you could bring to the community?

I wish to continue sharing my skills and efforts as a Selectman. I have operated a very stable, profitable service business for 13 years. The nature of my business is restoring vehicles with alternative service options. These service options do more than conventional equivalents with less labor and cost. For many years I have also actively committed myself to many different groups in Canton. I have the knowledge, networks, and ability to continue as a valuable member of Canton's leadership.

Primary area of Focus, if elected

I will continue working with town agencies, Chamber of Commerce and developers on policies and processes to develop commercial properties to their potential while protecting town's character. Contrary to those who say they have a comprehensive plan to address this, it's a difficult chore involving many people and needs to be a priority.

What is something the Town has done well over the last four years

Town leadership has done a good job in a struggling economy. Strengthening the Police Department, updating vehicles and equipment, securing open space, and more.  They have done this while keeping taxes relatively stable.

What is something the Town could have done better over the last four years?

I think town leadership needs to do a better job of regularly communicating with boards and commissions in order to recognize strengths and weaknesses in policies and processes.

Other thoughts (optional)

I have proven my ability and commitment to Canton and hope to be chosen again as Selectman for Canton.
