Brian First Voted Board of Finance Chairman

Beth Kandrysawtz is vice chairman.

Earlier this week the Canton Board of Finance picked Brian D. First to take the helm as its new chairman. He replaces Richard Ohanesian, who did not seek re-election.

"I am honored to be selected chair and look to follow the fiscally conservative and level-headed example set by our former chair, Dick Ohanesian, over his many years of service," First said. "I encourage engagement from each member of the BOF and believe we benefit greatly from their diverse experience and unique knowledge of Canton."

First was voted to the position during the board's meeting Monday night. Beth Kandrysawtz was voted vice chairman. She is a newcomer to the finance board but served 8 years on the Board of Education, three as chairman.
