Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department announces Be Safe, Replace Campaign
Volunteers will take effort to the streets on Sunday, Nov. 11.
The Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department announces its annual Fall Campaign, Be Safe …. Replace; a community initiative to promote fire and carbon monoxide safety and awareness.
Canton’s volunteer firefighters & EMTs will go door-to-door, throughout town, asking residents if they have smoke and/or CO alarms.
The event is done twice a year and was postponed from Nov. 4 due to the snow storm.

They will provide fresh batteries for a current alarm or replace an older alarm with a new one. All alarms & batteries provided free of charge.
The Canton Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. donated $1,000 to purchase the fire, CO alarms & batteries at Larsen’s Ace Hardware, which provided them at a discounted price.

The primary goal of Be Safe …. Replace - in Canton is two-fold:
- Provide residents with the critical tools required to safeguard both their families & property
- To build awareness & educate Canton residents as to their responsibilities for the upkeep of fire & CO alarms in their homes.
On Sunday Nov. 11, 2012 from noon to 2 p.m. volunteer firefighters/EMTs will be driving fire apparatus throughout Collinsville, Canton and North Canton.
