A three-car accident on Route 44 near Davidson Chevrolet sent at least one person to hospital and closed a portion of the road for about a half hour Friday afternoon, police said.
One person was transported to the hospital after the accident but police believe the injuries are relatively minor, Capt. Larry Terra said.
The cars collided in the middle to the roadway, creating the need to close a section of Route 44 near Dowd Avenue. Police and the town of Canton Volunteer Fire and EMS Department redirected traffic, investigated and cleared the scene. Canton's main ambulance transported the patient and firefighters cleaned the scene.
The accident was reported at 2:02 p.m. and the roadway was cleared shortly after 2:30 p.m., police said. Some school buses were delayed but were not involved, school officials said.
Terra said police are investigating the cause of the accident and further details were not immediately available.
