Slippery Roads Cause Mishaps Tuesday Morning

No serious injuries reported.

Slippery road conditions caused a few mishaps Tuesday morning but none resulted in serious injury, police chief Christopher Arciero reported.

Shortly before 6 a.m., the Police Department and the town of Canton Volunteer Fire and EMS Department responded to a one-car rollover at North Mountain and Cherry Brook roads, Arciero said. The four occupants were out of the vehicle when crews arrived and some younger passenger were evaluated but no one required transport to the hospital, Arciero said.

There was some fluid in the roadway and the state was asked to provide additional salt to Cherry Brook Road (Route 179), police said.

Shortly before 7 a.m., a school bus became temporarily stuck in the roadway at Indian Hill and West Mountain, Arciero said. Public Works crews were sent to the area to help out and provide additional salt on the roads. No one was hurt, Arciero said.

At 7:15 a.m. there was a two-car accident on Route 44, near 144 Albany Turnpike, but no injuries were reported.
