Police Log Additional Sexual Charges Against Former Resident

This week, Canton police again arrested former resident Richard G. Jacques on charges of sexual assault. 

On Nov. 8, Jacques was charged with first-degree sexual assault and illegal sexual contact with a victim under the age of 16. 

Jacques, 76, of 63 Elm St., Apt. 210, Manchester is already facing charges of first-degree sexual assault with use of threat or force and two counts of illegal sexual contact. According to court documents, he had sexual contact with a young boy in 2003 and 2005, at one point allegedly forcing the youth to perform a sexual act and in another case touching him inappropriately. 

Police said the latest charges stem from a different case but could not comment further because the arrest warrant remains sealed. 

Jacques is free on bond and is due back in court on Dec. 20, 2012.
