Police: Graffiti Offender Identified

Juvenile may be referred to alternative program.

Police have identified a youth responsible for the recent spat of graffiti in the areas of Canton High School and Mills Pond Park, Chief Christopher Arciero said Tuesday afternoon.

In early May, the letters OF and sometimes OFEGKTA were painted on numerous signs, the ground and some stone walls, mostly in the vicinity of Mills Pond Park, Canton High School and the Mellennium Field. According to numerous Web sites, Odd Future, sometimes call Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, is a collective of hip-hop artists in Los Angeles.

Tuesday, Arciero said officers followed up on leads and confronted the individual. He praised officers Joe Capaldo and Jon Saucier for their work.

"He confessed," said Arciero, adding that it was a male under the age of 17. "I was proud of the officers and the work they put into it."

While it has not been finalized, the young man may qualify for the Juvenile Review Board, an alternative to court for first-time offenders, Arciero said.
